President Benigno Aquino,

At this moment you are PUBLIC ENEMY NO. 1 of the Hong Kong people. The way you have mishandled the Hong Kong Hostage Massacre Tragedy, which you downplayed as the Hong Kong Hostage-taking incident, has not only shown you up as an irresponsible head of state, but has shamed your country and your people.

You said you should not be held responsible for other people's deeds. But when your officials, no matter how low level, failed to protect guests of your country,  causing deaths and injuries, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE, or you are not worthy of your position as the leader of your country.

By saying it is not your culture to apologize for not being "at fault as a country, as a government and as a people”, you have humiliated your people, as only the immoral and the unjust would not own up to their mistakes.

By alleging that apology for a crime on such a scale, made worse by your incompetent and even cynical police force and bureaucrats, is not a " culture" of your country, you have further insulted the people of Hong Kong and placed yourself below any moral standards of humanity.

We urge you to

APOLOGIZE TO HONG KONG

COMPENSATE THE VICTIMS

IMMEDIATELY

This is the only way you can atone for the shabby way you have dealt with this tragedy. This is the only way you can reclaim the moral ground you have up to now lost for yourself and your country.
