自由黨強烈不滿歐洲議會  嚴重干擾香港特區事務及制裁國家和港區官員(2022年1月21日）

對於歐洲議會通過譴責香港特區人權及自由惡化的決議，並要求歐盟制裁相關國家及香港特區官員，包括國務院港澳辦主任夏寶龍及常務副主任張曉明、中聯辦主任駱惠寧、駐港國安公署署長鄭雁雄、行政長官林鄭月娥、政務司司長李家超、律政司司長鄭若驊及保安局局長鄧炳強，自由黨表示強烈不滿，認為歐洲議會嚴重干擾香港特區事務，是一種霸道行為，完全不能接受。

自由黨反對一切侵犯國家主權和粗暴干涉國家內政的野蠻霸道行為，批評歐洲議會混淆是非，而歐洲議會一些政客一再以自由、人權為名就香港特區事務指手劃腳，為反中亂港分子撐腰打氣，做法極其荒謬，促請歐洲議會停止插手香港特區事務和中國內政。

自由黨認為，《港區國安法》立法後成效顯著，本港社會隨即恢復秩序，經濟活動重回正軌，市民的人身和財產安全得到保護，加上中央主導完善香港特區選舉制度，選舉委員會及立法會換屆選舉先後順利舉行，充分顯示港人一向享有的自由和權利，依舊受《基本法》所保障。

The Liberal Party expresses strong dissatisfaction at the European Parliament in its severe interference with HKSAR affairs and sanctions on top officials （21 January 2022)

The Liberal Party strongly condemns the resolution passed by the European Parliament claiming the “deterioration” of human rights and freedoms in the Hong Kong SAR, and calling the EU to sanction relevant top leadership officials including Xia Baolong - Director of the Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, Zhang Xiaoming - Deputy Director, Luo Huining - Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR, and Zheng Yanxiong - Director of the Office of National Security in Hong Kong, Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Secretary for Administration Li Ka-chiu, Secretary for Justice Cheng Yuk-wah and Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung. This is blatant interference with the affairs of the HKSAR, overbearing and totally unacceptable.

The Liberal Party opposes all domineering and barbaric acts which grossly meddle with national sovereignty and our internal affairs.  We condemn the European Parliament for obfuscating right and wrong, while some politicians in the European Parliament have repeatedly pointed fingers on Hong Kong’s affairs under the disguise of “freedom and human rights” to hype up the anti-China turmoil in Hong Kong, which is extremely absurd. We urge the European Parliament to stop meddling in HKSAR’s business and China's internal matters.

With the enactment of the "National Security Law", it has instantly achieved remarkable results restoring order to our once-chaotic society, returning economic activities to normal, and protecting the personal and property safety of our citizens.  In addition, the improvement of the Hong Kong SAR's electoral system led by our Central Government had our Legislature & Election Commission smoothly implemented, fully manifesting that freedoms and rights we have always enjoyed are still guaranteed by the Basic Law.
